Val Jonas
CEO, Risk Decisions Group
In 1998 Val became our CEO, following her earlier role as our technical director. She is highly regarded worldwide as a risk management specialist, routinely advising clients and regularly invited to talk at conferences on the cultural, process and technical issues facing organisations implementing project, business and enterprise risk management. Val contributes to the development of risk management standards and guidance. For example, as a reviewer of the UK Office of Government Commerce’s ‘Management of Risk’ guidance, and a co-author of the recently published practical guide for interfacing Risk and Earned Value sponsored by the Association of Project Management (in collaboration with the US National Defense Industry Association).
As our technical director, Val played a major part in the design and development of the Predict! software, including innovations such as the Hierarchy Tree, Risk Management Clusters, and the combined threat and opportunity risk impact grid.
Val has a joint honours BA in Mathematics and Computing from Oxford University. She is also a non-executive director of SOLL Leisure Ltd, a fast growing leisure company in Oxfordshire UK. Outside work her interests are travel and theatre.
Fiona Racher
Business Development Director, Risk Decisions Group
Fiona joined Risk Decisions in early 2002 bringing over 14 years experience successfully marketing software, computer hardware and other technical products in the UK, EMEA and North America. She became Business Development Director for Risk Decisions Group in 2005 and the CEO of Risk Decisions’ Asia-Pacific subsidiary in 2006. With responsibility for the strategic business planning and business development across the Group, Fiona expanded our global reach by facilitating the opening of our Australian office during 2005.
Through continuous engagement with our existing and prospective customers, Fiona ensures that we satisfy their current and future risk management requirements. She manages the sales, marketing and professional services teams ensuring that we successfully communicate our expertise and capability to the market.
Fiona has a BSc Hons, a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing, a Diploma in Management and is a Chartered Marketer. Outside work she enjoys walking and gardening in the beautiful Berkshire Downs.
Terry J. Eames
Managing Director, Risk Decisions Pty Ltd
In August 2007, Terry joined us as Managing Director of our Asia-Pacific subsidiary. His role includes marketing, business development, client management and overall business management. His ability to undertake this role stem from his experiences as a business manager at Ball Solutions Group, his extensive project management exposure, and a thorough understanding of our products.
Terry commenced 21-year’s military service in 1974 when he joined the Australian Air Force to undertake studies in Aeronautical engineering. Over this period of time, his career provided him with extensive experience in maintenance management, information system management, human resource management and project management. In 1995, Terry retired from the military for a career in aircraft accident investigation with the Australian Bureau of Accident Investigation.
Terry joined Ball Solutions Group (now QinetiQ Consulting) in late 1996, as Operations Manager for its new Canberra office. While there he established three new business units: Airborne Early Warning and Control Aircraft project support; Network Centric Warfare; and risk management. The latter was in close cooperation with us and provided risk management and Predict! tools training, risk workshops and general risk mentoring to our growing Australian customer base.
Outside work his interests are hockey, gardening (digging holes really) and military modelling.
