Fiona Racher, Global Business Director

At Risk Decisions, my role is

To nurture the long-term relationships we develop with customers to help their success.

I believe risk management can transform businesses by…

Enabling organisations deliver the promises they make to their customers, people and stakeholders. In a world that is changing really quickly, we all need to challenge ourselves, and safely take some risks to grow.

We’ve built a customer community because…

We enjoy bringing people who share the belief that risk is a positive force for shaping futures together. We encourage everyone to share their stories, experiences and challenges so that everyone can grow themselves and their organisations.

Making Risk Decisions a great place to work is vital as…

A job isn’t a job if you’re having fun and feel you’re making a difference.

I invest in myself by…

Making time to weed my garden even if that means getting up at 6am (I’m not a morning person)–they’re great stress bu

sters.  Talking to family and friends working in different roles and sectors, searching out people on LinkedIn with valuable contributions to make – I love the World Economic Forum posts. My favourite business read this year is “How to Argue with a Cat: A Human’s Guide to the Art of Persuasion”. As a cat lover I find Jay Heinrichs’ observations so true and as a business owner it provides useful tips!

Before I joined Risk Decisions I …

I started a PhD in nitrogen fixation in barley– but soon realised that research wasn’t for me. After spending time in marketing in the corporate world for Thomson Reuters and Intel, I knew I wanted to work for B2B SME. I love being involved in all aspects of the business at a strategic level.

If I wasn’t in this role I’d be

Helping to steer a charity such as The Woodland Trust.

There’s so much to achieve at Risk Decisions. Next is

Strengthening the Risk Decisions brand globally. We’ll also keep building the skills and competencies of our staff to help them become even more successful.

When I’m not at work I …

Love walking and cycling with my husband and daughter, and creating my garden as a beautiful haven for wildlife. I’m also a governor for a local primary school, helping to ensure the next generation have the best life opportunities.
